Description:
Position Purpose
The Respiratory Educator (RE) utilizes innovation, flexible solutions, evidence-based practice, and effective operations for establishing an environment that transforms professional growth, role competence, and proficiency in team members specialty.
What you will do
- Develops innovative learning approaches for coordination, facilitation, conduction, and evaluation of orientation, competency, and in-service programs
- Create and implement continuing education based on needs assessment
- Provide education/training on all new equipment and validates each staff member on use
- Participate in the development of specialty and generic Respiratory policies/procedures
- Collaborate with hospital-based education specialist for organizational needs and support
- Mentor team members to focus on professional growth and development
- During times of no scheduled education and training or as operational needs requires, The RT educator may perform normal duties as a staff RT
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy program and Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field required
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in all aspects of Respiratory Care
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- NBRC certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required
- Demonstrated project management experience required
