Mid Level Healthcare Project Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level healthcare project manager job?
Position yourself around project ownership rather than task execution. Highlight work where you led a project from initiation through delivery, managed stakeholders, and resolved issues without escalating everything upward. Certifications like PMP or CAPM strengthen your application, and any experience with healthcare-specific workflows, such as EHR implementations or regulatory compliance projects, signals the domain depth hiring managers are looking for at this level.
Which companies hire mid level healthcare project managers?
Companies hiring mid level healthcare project managers right now include Jobot, RevSpring, and Cushing Terrell, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Health systems, managed care organizations, healthcare technology vendors, and consulting firms that serve the healthcare sector all hire steadily at this level.
Are there remote mid level healthcare project manager jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer type and project scope. About 23% of mid level healthcare project manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the strongest remote concentrations in health IT, revenue cycle management, and payer-side operations where in-person presence is less critical.
How do I move up to a mid level healthcare project manager role?
The path from entry level to mid level is built through expanding ownership over time. Start by taking full responsibility for discrete workstreams, then move toward leading smaller projects independently. Build measurable impact you can articulate, such as reduced cycle times or successful go-lives, develop familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, and pursue a project management certification to signal readiness for the broader accountability mid level roles carry.
Which industries hire the most mid level healthcare project managers?
Mid Level healthcare project manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring because they run large, complex, and often federally regulated initiatives that require dedicated project management capacity to stay on schedule and within compliance.
