Hotel Operations Manager Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hotel operations manager in Utah?
Most hotel operations managers in Utah start with a bachelor's degree in hospitality management or business, often from programs at Utah Valley University, the University of Utah, or Brigham Young University. Utah does not require a state-issued license for this role, so advancement comes through hands-on experience in front desk, housekeeping, or food and beverage management. Earning a Certified Hotel Administrator credential from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute strengthens candidacy at larger Utah resort and full-service properties.
How much do hotel operations managers make in Utah?
Hotel operations managers in Utah earn a median of about $67,060 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $48,720 for the lowest 10% to over $135,050 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire hotel operations managers in Utah?
Utah hotel operations manager roles are posted by University of Utah, eBay, and M&s and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Utah's mix of destination ski resorts, downtown convention hotels, and growing leisure markets in St. George keeps a broad range of national brands and independent operators actively hiring.
Which Utah cities have the most hotel operations manager jobs?
Salt Lake City, Lehi, and Draper are the Utah cities with the most hotel operations manager openings. Salt Lake City anchors the market through its airport corridor and convention center hotels, Park City draws demand from world-class ski resorts and mountain conference properties, and St. George has grown steadily as a leisure and national-park gateway destination attracting major branded hotels.
Are there remote hotel operations manager jobs in Utah?
Yes, but they're rare. Hotel operations management is inherently on-site, requiring direct oversight of staff, guests, and physical facilities. About 33% of hotel operations manager openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with most remote-eligible work limited to corporate or multi-property roles focused on revenue strategy, training, or regional oversight rather than daily property operations.
How can I get hired as a hotel operations manager in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a supervisory role in front desk, housekeeping, or food and beverage at a large Utah resort property such as those operated by Marriott or Hilton in Salt Lake City or Park City. From there, lateral moves into assistant general manager or operations supervisor positions build the profile needed for a full manager role. Completing a hospitality management degree at Utah Valley University or Brigham Young University alongside property-level work accelerates the transition.
Where can I find and apply to hotel operations manager jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to hotel operations manager jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current Utah openings across Salt Lake City, Park City, St. George, and other markets. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and target property type, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
