Hris Consultant Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hris consultant in Arkansas?
Most hris consultant roles in Arkansas require a bachelor's degree in human resources, information systems, or business administration. There is no state-issued license specific to this role in Arkansas. Employers look for hands-on platform experience, and professional certifications such as SHRM-CP or an HRIP credential from the International Association for Human Resource Information Management strengthen a candidacy considerably. Many professionals enter the field through HR generalist or systems analyst roles before moving into dedicated HRIS work.
Which companies hire hris consultants in Arkansas?
Companies currently hiring hris consultants in Arkansas include Walmart, Bowie State University, and L3Harris, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's large healthcare networks and major retail and distribution employers consistently represent some of the steadiest demand for this role in the state.
Which Arkansas cities have the most hris consultant jobs?
Bentonville, Little Rock, and State University have the most hris consultant openings in Arkansas. Little Rock drives volume through state government agencies and large healthcare systems, while Fayetteville and Bentonville reflect demand from the University of Arkansas and the extensive supplier and corporate network that has grown around Walmart's Northwest Arkansas headquarters.
Are there remote hris consultant jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, and more than most fields, since hris consultant work is largely desk-based and system-driven. About 36% of hris consultant openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how well the role translates to distributed work. Configuration, reporting, and end-user support tasks are the functions most commonly performed remotely, while go-live implementations and on-site training sessions tend to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a hris consultant in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from an HR coordinator or payroll specialist role, since those positions build the process knowledge that hris consulting requires. Large Arkansas healthcare networks like Baptist Health and UAMS often post HRIS support analyst openings that are structured for candidates transitioning from HR operations. Completing a Workday or ADP system administrator certification demonstrates platform competence and gives a candidate a measurable edge when competing against more experienced applicants for junior roles.
Where can I find and apply to hris consultant jobs in Arkansas?
You can find and apply to hris consultant jobs in Arkansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arkansas openings. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and target location, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
