Position Details

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health | Psychiatric ICU
Location : Vallejo, CA

Schedule

• Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

• 5 x 8-hour shifts

• No set schedule

• Typically every other weekend required

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health to join our Psychiatric ICU team. In this role, you will provide coordinated, patient-centered care while working collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to support individuals facing mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Deliver compassionate psychiatric nursing care using the nursing process

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans

• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and healthcare teams

• Support patients and families through education and therapeutic communication

• Maintain a safe, healing, and structured environment

• Supervise and coordinate activities of nursing support staff

• Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care initiatives

• Utilize critical thinking and independent clinical judgment daily

Qualifications

Required

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California

• Current BLS/CPR certification

• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience

Preferred

• CPI Certification (may be obtained onsite)

• BSN degree

• Acute care experience
