ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Industrial Automation Technician, you will serve as a key technical expert responsible for the uptime and optimization of high-speed manufacturing systems. You will play a vital role in maintaining complex electromechanical equipment, ensuring peak operational efficiency through proactive troubleshooting and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve technical faults in automated production lines, including robotics, vision systems, and motion control hardware, to maximize equipment availability.
- Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical and electrical failures, implementing sustainable corrective actions to enhance system reliability.
- Execute the installation, calibration, and commissioning of new automation upgrades while maintaining precise technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to refine manufacturing processes and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to rigorous safety standards, including LOTO and NFPA 70E protocols.
- Support the optimization of PLC and HMI platforms to streamline production workflows and reduce cycle times.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical certification.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in reading complex electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
- Strong technical expertise in PLC/HMI platforms, robotics, and pneumatic systems.
- Proven ability to solve complex technical problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience working within FDA-regulated or highly controlled manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and statistical process control.
- Active pursuit or possession of advanced automation certifications such as ISA CCST or CAP.
