Entry Level Infrastructure Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level infrastructure engineer job?
Focus on demonstrating hands-on skills rather than years on a resume. Build a home lab, earn a foundational certification like CompTIA Network+ or AWS Cloud Practitioner, and document your projects clearly. Employers hiring at this level look for candidates who understand networking basics, can troubleshoot systems, and show initiative through internships, coursework, or self-directed work. Tailor your resume to each posting's stated requirements.
Which companies hire entry level infrastructure engineers?
Companies hiring entry level infrastructure engineers right now include Google, Amazon, and Carollo Engineers, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of large enterprises with formal new-grad programs, managed service providers, and mid-size technology and finance firms building out their IT and cloud teams.
Are there remote entry level infrastructure engineer jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles remain common at this career stage since many teams prefer in-person mentorship for junior hires. About 17% of entry level infrastructure engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates open to any work setting will see the widest range of opportunities across the country.
Are these new grad infrastructure engineer jobs?
Yes. The listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior infrastructure engineer roles alongside other entry level postings. A new-grad-friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and accepts internships, co-ops, academic projects, or a strong portfolio in place of full-time work history. Look for language like 'no experience required' or 'recent graduates encouraged to apply' in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level infrastructure engineers?
Entry Level infrastructure engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Artificial Intelligence, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they are expanding cloud, network, and data center operations and need junior engineers who can support and grow with their infrastructure teams.
