Mid Level Instructional Designer Jobs

INTRODUCTION

As an Instructional Designer, you design, develop and maintain e-learning that supports employee performance in a manufacturing environment. Partnering with manufacturing subject matter experts and L&D colleagues, you’ll translate technical and operational information into practical, engaging training that helps employees perform their jobs safely, efficiently and consistently.

This is a fully on-site position located at our corporate headquarters in Plymouth, MI.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You Will:

• Own and maintain manufacturing e-learning curriculum, ensuring content remains relevant, accurate, and aligned with operational needs.
• Design and develop interactive e-learning for production employees using sound instructional design and adult learning principles.
• Partner with manufacturing subject matter experts to identify learning needs and translate complex technical content into clear, practical instruction.
• Create engaging digital learning experiences using interactions, scenarios, assessments, graphics, audio, video, and other media.
• Manage e-learning projects from concept through launch, including content gathering, development, stakeholder review, testing, LMS publication, and ongoing updates.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

You Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, learning technology, communications, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience designing and developing e-learning solutions.
• Experience developing training for manufacturing, industrial, technical, operations, skilled-trades, or other frontline environments is highly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Articulate Storyline 360, along with experience using multimedia development tools such as Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
• Strong instructional writing, research, project management, and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with technical subject matter experts.
• Ability to travel occasionally to our manufacturing facilities.
• Ability to be fully in-person at our corporate office in Plymouth, MI.
