Insurance Jobs in Greenville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an insurance job in Greenville?
The strongest path into Greenville's insurance market is targeting the city's large healthcare networks, regional carriers, and independent agencies clustered along Woodruff Road and in the downtown corridor. Candidates with experience in commercial lines, employee benefits, or claims adjusting stand out most. Familiarity with Greenville's manufacturing and logistics base also helps, since many local businesses carry complex commercial policies that agencies need staff to service.
Which companies hire insurances in Greenville?
Greenville insurance roles are posted by Kemper, AAA The Auto Club, and Davies and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The local market includes a mix of national carriers with regional offices, independent agencies serving Upstate South Carolina businesses, and large employer HR departments that staff their own benefits teams.
Are there remote insurance jobs in Greenville?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role. Desk-based positions such as underwriting, claims review, and benefits administration are far more remote-friendly than field sales or on-site adjusting roles. About 18% of insurance openings tied to Greenville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with analytical and back-office functions making up the bulk of those flexible arrangements.
How can I get an insurance job in Greenville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Greenville is a customer service or policy service representative role at one of the independent agencies or regional carrier offices along Woodruff Road or in Verdae. These positions routinely hire candidates without prior insurance backgrounds and provide on-the-job exposure to personal lines and small commercial accounts. Greenville's growing healthcare sector also hires entry-level benefits coordinators who can move into broader insurance roles over time.
