INTRODUCTION
We Are Hiring:
- Specialty: Hospitalist, Internal Medicine
- Schedule: PRN 12-hour shifts dependent upon personal and operational availability
- Call Schedule: None
- Practice Detail: Ascension St Vincent's flagship Indianapolis location is seeking a PRN hospitalist to join our elite team.
- EMR System: Sunrise
- Facility: Ascension St. Vincent - 86th Street
- Location: Indianapolis, IN
This job location is not currently located in a Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and/or Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/P) Shortage Designation Type.
What You Will Do:
Join the Ascension St. Vincent team in Indianapolis for a highly desirable and flexible PRN schedule. Pick up shifts based on your personal availability and operational need.
- Shift Structure: 12-hour shifts on PRN basis
- W2 position: W2 position including malpractice coverage.
- Closed ICU: Closed ICU within our flagship Indianapolis location with 500+ beds.
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
- Evaluate and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
- Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
- Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
- Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What You Will Need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
