Senior Level Interventional Radiologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level interventional radiologist job?
Employers hiring at this level look for physicians who have moved beyond supervised practice into independent procedural ownership, covering a full range of vascular, oncologic, and neuro-interventional cases. A strong candidate demonstrates subspecialty depth, quality improvement leadership, and experience mentoring fellows or residents. Fellowship training in interventional radiology, board certification, and a history of contributing to protocol development or peer review give candidates a clear edge.
Which companies hire senior level interventional radiologists?
Companies hiring senior level interventional radiologists right now include Cleveland Clinic, University of California, San Francisco, and SSM Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Hiring at this level comes primarily from large academic health systems, regional hospital networks, and radiology group practices that need experienced proceduralists to lead high-volume IR programs.
Are there remote senior level interventional radiologist jobs?
Yes, though most interventional radiology roles require on-site presence for procedures. About 0% of senior level interventional radiologist openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions typically involve teleradiology interpretation, clinical leadership, or program consulting rather than hands-on procedural work. Fully remote options are more common for physicians taking on medical director or advisory functions.
What makes an interventional radiologist role senior level?
Senior level interventional radiologist roles are defined by independent ownership of complex procedures, accountability for clinical outcomes, and responsibility for shaping departmental standards. At this stage, physicians are expected to mentor fellows and junior staff, lead quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to strategic decisions around equipment, protocols, or service line development. The scope extends well beyond case volume into technical leadership and program stewardship.
Which industries hire the most senior level interventional radiologists?
Senior level interventional radiologist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate high-acuity procedural environments where experienced, independently practicing interventional radiologists are needed to sustain complex oncology, vascular, and trauma care programs.
