Investment Analyst Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an investment analyst job in Chicago?
Focus your search on the Loop and River North, where Chicago's largest asset managers, private equity firms, and investment banks cluster. Mid-market private equity shops on LaSalle Street and regional commercial banks both hire analysts regularly. A CFA candidacy or progress toward Level I gives you a visible edge, and familiarity with Chicago's strong industrials and real estate investment sectors helps you speak to local deal flow in interviews.
Which companies hire investment analysts in Chicago?
Employers hiring investment analysts in Chicago right now include Fitch Ratings, Google, and Deloitte, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's hiring mix leans heavily toward institutional asset managers, regional investment banks, and insurance holding companies with large internal investment arms.
Are there remote investment analyst jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though selectively. Investment analyst roles that involve portfolio monitoring, financial modeling, and research writing tend to accommodate remote or hybrid schedules, while roles tied to client-facing coverage or trading desks typically require in-office presence. About 35% of investment analyst openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of June 2026. Buy-side research positions at Chicago asset managers have shown the most flexibility toward hybrid arrangements.
How can I get an investment analyst job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is through a rotational analyst program at one of the city's regional banks or insurance holding companies, which routinely hire recent graduates for two-year structured tracks. Boutique advisory firms in the Loop also hire junior analysts willing to work across deal types. A demonstrated ability with Excel-based financial modeling, even from coursework or self-directed projects, moves candidates past the initial screen in Chicago's competitive entry-level market.
Which industries hire the most investment analysts in Chicago?

Chicago's role as a Midwest financial hub, combined with its deep base of insurance carriers and commercial real estate firms, keeps demand for investment analysts broad across both traditional finance and adjacent industries.
