Job Overview:
LPL is seeking an Investment Analytics & Data professional to join its Investment Research department. This individual will be responsible for leading the creation and maintenance of a suite of analytical tools in support of LPL Research’s investment management solutions. These analytics will cover, but are not limited to, the following investment functions: Asset Allocation (Multi-Asset), Portfolio Management (Risk, Attribution, Competitive Intelligence), Security-Selection (Equities, Fixed Income, Alternatives, Funds), and Business Management. The individual will work on the Quantitative Strategy team, which builds and manages multi-asset portfolios on behalf of advisors and institutions, to deliver robust investment outcomes for their clients.
Responsibilities:
- Lead LPL Research’s vertical tech stack development, from cross-functional relationship management to internal project management and individual contributions.
- Build and maintain master investment data sets to help the LPL Research department scale its investment reporting and analytics output with its industry-leading growth.
- Develop visualization tools that efficiently integrate multiple vendor data sources to unlock value within the LPL Research ecosystem through personalized curation.
- Develop a pre-trade analytics and order management solution, driving meaningful improvements in turnaround time and process scalability.
- Help LPL Research develop its long-term strategic positioning relative to peers by developing and sharing competitive intelligence insights across the firm.
- Independently support senior management with polished presentation materials on investment performance, risk management, and trends in asset flows across platform.
- Actively learn and support the portfolio management process by supporting members of Portfolio Management Committees with performance attributions, risk data, and insights.

Requirements
- 5-8 years of work experience in a quantitative/analytical role in investment management
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative, finance/economics, or computer information systems
- Experience working programmatically with investment data (e.g., Python, SQL, Excel)
- Professional experience with data analytics visualization tools, including the ability to design and automate the production of dashboards (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau)
Preferences:
- Strategic acumen in understanding LPL’s role in the broader financial services industry, and trends driving product development in the investment management space.
- Experience articulating a product vision and roadmap that aligns multiple stakeholders, and driving the vision to completion.
- Working experience using relational database management software (RDBMS) and application programming interfaces (APIs).
- Experience with market data analytics platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Refinitiv, Lipper, and Morningstar.
- Hands-on development experience with Microsoft Power Apps and/or Microsoft Fabric unified data platform.
- Experience back-testing quantitative investment models in equity, fixed income, alternative, or multi-asset space.
Pay Range:
$131,325.00 - $218,875.00
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
