IT Auditor Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a it auditor in Delaware?
Delaware does not require a state-issued license to work as an IT auditor, but employers strongly prefer candidates who hold professional certifications such as the Certified Information Systems Auditor credential from ISACA. Most roles require a bachelor's degree in information technology, accounting, or computer science. Building experience in internal controls, risk assessment, or financial auditing within Delaware's dominant financial services or healthcare sectors provides the most direct path to your first role.
How much do IT auditors make in Delaware?
IT auditors in Delaware earn a median of about $95,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,500 for the lowest 10% to over $132,550 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire it auditors in Delaware?
Employers hiring it auditors in Delaware right now include Stonebridge Companies, Coast to Coast Merchandising and Installations, and ICF, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's incorporation-friendly legal climate means many large corporations maintain significant compliance and audit functions in the state, creating steady demand well beyond any single industry.
Which Delaware cities have the most it auditor jobs?
Wilmington, Newark, and New Castle account for the largest share of IT auditor openings in Delaware. Wilmington drives the majority of postings because it is home to major banks, credit card companies, and financial holding corporations that maintain large internal audit departments, while Newark's proximity to corporate campuses and Dover's state government offices support additional demand in those markets.
Are there remote it auditor jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 25% of it auditor openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves reviewing documentation, analyzing controls, and writing reports rather than physical inspection. The audit planning and evidence review phases tend to be the most remote-friendly, while fieldwork and stakeholder interviews may still require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a it auditor in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior internal audit or IT controls analyst role within Delaware's large financial institutions, several of which run rotational audit associate programs designed for recent graduates. Candidates coming from adjacent roles in IT support, compliance coordination, or accounting operations are frequently considered for entry-level audit positions. Earning the ISACA CISA exam eligibility requirements or completing a relevant internship at a Wilmington-area bank or healthcare system gives candidates a measurable advantage in a competitive applicant pool.
Where can I find and apply to it auditor jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to IT auditor jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Find roles that match your experience and specialization and apply directly through the listings.
