Most employers expect a two- or four-year degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, combined with industry certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+. Candidates who build experience through WVU, Marshall University, or BridgeValley Community and Technical College programs, then pursue entry-level IT support roles at state agencies or regional healthcare systems, follow the most common local path.
Which companies hire it operations specialists in West Virginia?

Which West Virginia cities have the most it operations specialist jobs?

Charleston leads because it is the state capital and home to the largest concentration of state government offices and regional corporate headquarters, while Morgantown's growth reflects WVU Medicine and the university's expanded research and technology operations, and Huntington draws openings from Marshall Health and the area's manufacturing and logistics employers.
Are there remote it operations specialist jobs in West Virginia?

BridgeValley Community and Technical College and WVU's IT programs offer associate and bachelor's pathways with employer connections.
