Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery- Full Time, Nights
Status: Full Time
Shift: Third
*Employment Bonus Available for Eligible Applicants*
About The Unit:
The Labor and Delivery unit is made up of 14 Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms, three operating rooms, and a four bed OB Emergency Department. The unit delivers approximately 3,000 babies each year. Nurses work with a variety of patients from natural childbirth to high-risk preterm multiple gestation pregnancies. Nursing staff roles include the labor nurses who support labor and delivery, and delivery team nurses caring for newborns during the immediate newborn period. The unit has 24/7 in-house anesthesia, neonatology, and OB hospitalist support.
Job Summary:
Registered nurse implements the nursing process for each assigned to his/her care regardless of age (i.e. infancy to geriatric) and is responsible for the patient’s care. The registered nurse promotes positive patient outcomes and the delivery of quality patient care. The registered nurse collaborates with the inter-professional team to enhance patient outcomes. The registered nurse serves as a role model through actively participating in the process of continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
Requirements:
Associate's degree in nursing required.
Active Kentucky RN License required.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) required.
2 years previous experience in NICU, Newborn Nursery, or applicable Neonatal experience strongly preferred.
