Overview:
Division V at Clarkson University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Engineering Science to support an expanded undergraduate teaching need across the Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Aeronautical Engineering (AE) programs. The successful candidate will teach four course sections per academic year, including one or two sections of ES260 (Materials Science), ES330 (Fluid Mechanics), and ES340 (Thermodynamics).
Responsibilities
Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach one or two sections of ES260 (Materials Science) per semester.
- Teach one or two sections of ES330 (Fluid Mechanics) per semester.
- Teach one or two sections of ES340 (Thermodynamics) per semester.
- Total teaching load to not exceed 4 classes per semester.
- Develop and deliver lecture materials, assignments, laboratory/recitation exercises, and assessments aligned with course learning outcomes.
- Maintain current, well-organized course content using standard course management systems (e.g., Moodle).
- Hold regular office hours and remain available to support student learning outside of scheduled class time.
Student Support & Advising

- Minimal Qualifications: PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering Science, or a closely related field.
