Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking co-op student to drive hands-on projects that help implement AI best practices across our organization. In this position, you will work cross-functionally to research, design, and implement an AI-related improvement that directly supports AMETEK’s digital transformation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate use cases and ensure solutions address real workflow pain points.
- Develop prototypes that translate OEM inputs into clear requirements, recommended design patterns, and early risk signals.
- Analyze and structure existing engineering data (requirements, designs, BOMs, test results) for use in AI models and workflows.
- Integrate AI tools into existing engineering processes across the NPD lifecycle (concept through SOP).
- Monitor performance of deployed automations and recommend enhancements or optimizations.
- Document results, measure impact, and communicate findings and recommendations to engineering leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong interest in artificial intelligence, automation, or data-driven process improvement.
- Familiarity with AI tools or platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot).
- Experience with research, data analysis, or process mapping methodologies.
