Licensed Practical Nurse Jobs in Milwaukee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a licensed practical nurse job in Milwaukee?
Focus your search on Milwaukee's large hospital systems, skilled nursing facilities, and federally qualified health centers, which hire LPNs at high volume year-round. The Menomonee Valley and near-north side corridors have strong concentrations of long-term care and rehabilitation employers. Candidates with experience in wound care, IV therapy, or geriatric populations stand out in this market. Applying directly through employer career portals alongside broader job platforms increases your chances.
Which companies hire licensed practical nurses in Milwaukee?
Companies currently hiring licensed practical nurses in Milwaukee include Gentiva, Ascension, and CSL Plasma, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Milwaukee's hiring pool is broad, covering integrated health systems, independent skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, and community clinics serving the city's diverse neighborhoods.
Are there remote licensed practical nurse jobs in Milwaukee?
Remote work is uncommon for licensed practical nurses because the role is fundamentally hands-on and requires direct patient contact. About 0% of licensed practical nurse openings tied to Milwaukee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions typically involve care coordination, telephonic case management, or utilization review rather than bedside duties.
How can I get a licensed practical nurse job in Milwaukee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Milwaukee is through long-term care facilities and skilled nursing homes, which regularly hire new LPNs and offer structured onboarding. Employers in the near-south side and northwest Milwaukee communities often recruit candidates fresh from MATC or other local vocational programs. Shift flexibility, a willingness to work evenings or weekends, and CNA experience as a foundation give entry-level candidates a meaningful edge with local hiring managers.
