Job description
Location: Anywhere in Country
At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.
We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world.
Our objective is to provide clients with a unique business perspective on how to leverage SAP technology to improve their operations. This is rooted in EY’s SAP service line capabilities (Supply Chain, FICO, BPC, Data & Analytics, Customer, Tech/Arch and SuccessFactors) that are focused on helping clients improve performance and increase productivity.
The opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) professional to lead complex product lifecycle transformation initiatives within our Technology Consulting practice. This role will focus on helping clients improve product innovation, engineering collaboration, product data governance, and time to market through SAP PLM solutions.
You will advise senior stakeholders, assess product development and engineering processes, define future-state capabilities, and lead the design and implementation of integrated SAP PLM solutions. You will work across business and technology teams to deliver capabilities involving product data, specifications, documents, engineering changes, bills of materials, compliance, and integration with manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Your key responsibilities
As a Manager in Technology Analysis, you will lead the strategy, design, implementation, and support of SAP Product Lifecycle Management solutions across the enterprise, including the interface between PTC Windchill and SAP S/4HANA. You will partner with engineering, product development, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, regulatory, and IT stakeholders to improve product data, document management, bill of materials, engineering change, specification, recipe, and product-introduction processes. You will provide functional leadership, oversee delivery teams and vendors, and ensure solutions and interfaces are scalable, compliant, integrated, and aligned with business transformation objectives.
- Own the SAP PLM roadmap and translate business priorities into a clear portfolio of process, data, integration, and technology initiatives.
- Lead end-to-end delivery across discovery, requirements, fit-to-standard design, configuration, development, testing, data migration, cutover, deployment, hypercare, and ongoing optimization.
- Design and govern PLM processes, including material and product master data, document management, bills of materials, classifications, specifications, engineering records, engineering change management, product structures, recipes, and new product introduction.
- Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders to document current-state processes, define future-state capabilities, resolve design decisions, and secure approvals.
- Lead the design and delivery of the PTC Windchill and SAP S/4HANA interface, including integration architecture, data mapping, transformation rules, validation, error handling, monitoring, security, reconciliation, and support procedures for parts and materials, EBOMs and MBOMs, documents and drawings, revisions, effectivity, engineering changes, routings, and release statuses.
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, master data, integration, and security teams to establish system-of-record ownership, field-level mappings, synchronization rules, interface controls, and end-to-end release and change-management workflows between Windchill and SAP.
- Lead interface testing and operational readiness, including unit testing, system integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, cutover rehearsals, reconciliation, exception resolution, and production monitoring.
- Lead Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes across PTC Windchill and SAP S/4HANA, including Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), impact analysis, workflow approvals, change numbers, revision control, effectivity dates, release status, audit traceability, and coordinated implementation of changes to materials, BOMs, routings, documents, and production master data.
- Manage functional consultants, developers, data resources, testing teams, system integrators, and third-party vendors; establish priorities, monitor deliverables, and support team development.
- Maintain solution quality through architecture reviews, design standards, clean-core principles, configuration governance, documentation, controls, and release management.
- Oversee testing strategy, defect management, data validation, cutover readiness, business continuity, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Identify delivery risks, dependencies, scope changes, and resource constraints; provide clear status reporting and recommendations to program leadership.
- Partner with change management and training teams to drive stakeholder engagement, user readiness, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.
- Support production operations by establishing incident, problem, enhancement, and service-management processes and by monitoring solution performance.
- Evaluate SAP innovations and product roadmaps, recommending capabilities that improve time-to-market, product quality, compliance, traceability, and engineering productivity.
Skills and attributes for success
To thrive in this role, you will need a blend of technical and interpersonal skills. Your ability to build relationships and communicate effectively will be crucial in delivering exceptional client service.
On your typical engagement, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to assess their needs and advise on SAP capabilities in manufacturing and quality management. You will lead requirement gathering, solution design, blueprinting, testing, and documentation. Additionally, you will work closely with stakeholders and the technical team to translate requirements into effective business solutions, overseeing configurations, customizations, and integrations with both SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Strong analytical skills to develop solutions to complex problems.
- Proven ability to manage engagement economics and resource planning.
- Experience in leading teams and managing change effectively.
- Ability to identify opportunities for additional services and lead specific RFP responses.
To qualify for the role, you must have

- Experience managing an SAP project or workstream and project-based team members in the manufacturing space.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills.
- Insight into best practices, benchmarking, peer company environments, and previous advisory roles pertinent to industry-specific production, quality management, and technology functions.
- A flexibility and willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 40-60%.
