Your Role
Manufacturing Leads are responsible for leading the manufacturing, assembly and/or packaging of medical device products in multiple processes, including planning the schedule, creating work orders, leading team meetings, performing enterprise resource planning (ERP) system transactions, training/mentoring/coaching Manufacturing Technicians, and other activities as needed.
Manufacturing Leads will be trained and follow standard operating procedures, environmental health and safety guidelines and any other related regulations which could apply to the specific job.
Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) will be followed during the manufacturing of our medical devices and associated device documentation.
Equipment used by the Manufacturing Lead will depend on the specific job.
May act as backup to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
What You'll Be Doing
- Mixing of solutions
- Washing components or equipment
- Wrapping components and/or equipment for sterilization
- Assembly or gluing of components
- Packaging and sealing of devices
- Preparing devices for sterilization
- Final packaging or labeling of products
- Perform daily cleaning of the production area to maintain GMP standards.
- Operate general production equipment (sealers, autoclave, stir plates, etc.).
- Receive and distribute supplies into the production area as necessary.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear proper safety gear at all times while on the manufacturing or warehouse floor.
- Maintain familiarity with production equipment, including but not limited to scales, sealers, pumps, and autoclaves.
- Be proficient in the primary job function and cross-trained in at least two other areas (Raw, Solutions, Trough, Cut & Sort, Aseptic, LHS, Surgical Tools, Pre-Sterile), or certified in Aseptic Process, Upper/Lower Solutions, or Flow Coupler Probe Insertion.
- Planning production schedules
- Creating work orders
- Performing manufacturing processes within the ERP system
- Ensuring team training remains current
- Training team members on GDP and GMP regulations
- Coaching and mentoring team members
- Escalating issues to area supervisors or management
- May act as a backup for supervisors.
- Maintain reliable attendance.
- Learn, understand, and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Complete required training in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- May require work in a clean room environment while wearing special garments and PPE, including scrubs, hair bonnets, frocks, hoods, masks, gloves, and safety glasses, based on the clean room classification level.
- In-house hazardous waste treatment using neutralization and dilution systems
- Labeling requirements for hazardous materials and hazardous waste
- Overtime may be required.
- Some job duties may be performed on a rotating basis.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for a minimum of 8 hours, with breaks provided throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds individually or up to 65 pounds as part of a team lift.
What You'll Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of manufacturing experience, OR an Associate's Degree plus 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- Experience working with an ERP system.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have basic English written and verbal communication skills sufficient to communicate effectively with team members.
- Ability to understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions, including English text and technical drawings.
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP systems. Experience with GME or JDE is preferred.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $48,000 - $66,000 annually. The estimated salary is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
