We are currently seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist 1 to support Southern Company's marketing and communications initiatives. Position Overview
The Digital Marketing Specialist 1 is responsible for planning, executing, and managing digital marketing campaigns and strategies designed to promote products, services, and brand initiatives across multiple online channels.
This role will leverage digital marketing tools, analytics, content creation, social media, search engine optimization (SEO), online advertising, and marketing automation platforms to drive engagement, increase brand awareness, and improve conversion rates.

Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing Strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Identify target audiences and develop campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and conversions.
- Support integrated marketing initiatives across multiple digital channels.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance marketing effectiveness.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Optimize website content, structure, and performance to improve organic search rankings.
- Conduct keyword research and implement SEO best practices.
- Monitor website traffic, search rankings, and SEO performance metrics.
- Recommend and implement improvements to increase online visibility.
Online Advertising
- Plan, execute, and optimize digital advertising campaigns.
- Manage pay-per-click (PPC), display advertising, retargeting, and social media advertising initiatives.
- Monitor campaign performance and optimize spending to maximize return on investment (ROI).
- Develop audience targeting strategies and ad performance reporting.
Content Marketing
- Create, edit, curate, and distribute engaging digital content.
- Develop content for:

- Ensure content aligns with brand standards and marketing objectives.
Social Media Management
- Manage and maintain social media platforms and online communities.
- Create content calendars and schedule social media posts.

- Support initiatives to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.
Email Marketing
- Develop and execute email marketing campaigns.
- Create newsletters, promotional campaigns, and automated drip campaigns.
- Manage audience segmentation and email list maintenance.
- Monitor campaign performance and optimize email engagement metrics.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze digital marketing campaign performance.
- Utilize tools such as:

- Develop reports and dashboards to communicate campaign performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)
- Analyze user behavior and website performance.

- Implement data-driven improvements that support business goals.
Marketing Automation
- Support implementation and management of marketing automation platforms.
- Develop workflows that streamline marketing processes.
- Segment audiences and nurture leads through automated campaigns.
- Improve customer engagement through personalized marketing initiatives.
Competitive Analysis
- Research competitor digital marketing strategies and industry trends.
- Identify market opportunities, risks, and emerging best practices.
- Provide recommendations to strengthen competitive positioning.
Budget Management
- Assist with planning, monitoring, and managing digital marketing budgets.
- Optimize marketing spend to maximize campaign effectiveness and ROI.
- Track expenditures and support budget forecasting activities.
Compliance & Best Practices
- Ensure compliance with digital marketing regulations and privacy standards.
- Adhere to online advertising guidelines and industry best practices.
- Maintain awareness of evolving regulatory requirements affecting digital marketing activities.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- Experience supporting digital marketing initiatives and campaigns.
- Experience with SEO, content marketing, social media management, and digital advertising.
- Experience analyzing campaign performance and making data-driven recommendations.
