Senior Level Media Director Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level media director job?
Senior level media director roles go to candidates who demonstrate ownership, not just execution. Employers want evidence of strategic media planning across channels, budget accountability, and team leadership. A strong portfolio showing measurable campaign outcomes, cross-functional collaboration with creative and analytics teams, and a clear point of view on audience targeting and media mix will set you apart at this stage.
Which companies hire senior level media directors?
Companies hiring senior level media directors right now include Pacvue, 24 Seven Talent, and Mile Marker, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of large media conglomerates, brand-side marketing organizations, and independent agencies that need leaders to own full-funnel media investment.
Are there remote senior level media director jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and industry. About 54% of senior level media director openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how senior media strategy work often translates well to distributed teams. On-site roles tend to cluster at agencies and larger organizations where cross-departmental collaboration and leadership visibility are priorities.
What makes a media director role senior level?
Senior level media director roles carry full ownership of media strategy, not just day-to-day campaign management. Expectations shift to setting channel priorities, owning media budgets, guiding agency or vendor relationships, and mentoring junior and mid-level team members. These roles typically require deep platform expertise alongside the business acumen to connect media performance directly to revenue and brand outcomes.
Which industries hire the most senior level media directors?
