Medical Assistant Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a medical assistant job in Seattle?
Seattle's strongest hiring comes from its dense cluster of hospital-affiliated outpatient clinics on First Hill and Capitol Hill, the growing network of primary care and specialty practices in South Lake Union, and community health centers serving the Rainier Valley and Beacon Hill. Candidates with a nationally recognized certification and phlebotomy or EHR experience move faster through screening at both large systems and independent practices here.
Which companies hire medical assistants in Seattle?
Employers hiring medical assistants in Seattle right now include Providence Swedish, University Of Washington, and Seattle Children's, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Seattle's market is shaped by large integrated health systems, federally qualified health centers, and a growing number of employer-sponsored and retail health clinics spread across the city's neighborhoods.
Are there remote medical assistant jobs in Seattle?
Yes, but only for a narrow subset of the role. Medical assisting is predominantly hands-on, so fully remote positions are rare. About 0% of medical assistant openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. The roles most likely to offer remote or hybrid arrangements in Seattle are those focused on patient scheduling, prior authorization, or telehealth support rather than clinical floor duties.
How can I get a medical assistant job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is through a community health center or urgent care clinic, where externship pipelines from programs at Seattle Central College and Renton Technical College feed directly into entry-level openings. Federally qualified health centers serving South Seattle and the International District regularly hire candidates fresh out of accredited programs. Volunteer or paid work as a patient services representative also gives Seattle hiring managers a recognizable step on the resume before a first clinical role.
Which industries hire the most medical assistants in Seattle?
The sectors hiring the most medical assistants in Seattle are Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Seattle's concentration of large academic medical centers, specialty care networks, and expanding community health infrastructure keeps demand across those sectors consistently active throughout the year.
