About the role:

• Datacenter Product Introductions team is looking to scale its test automation and CI/CD coverage to keep pace with New Product Introductions (NPIs).
• Hiring to expand test and automation for solutions involving BGP++, Open/R, Fabrics, Switches and Optics.

Job Title: Network Automation Engineer IV

Key Responsibilities:

• Test and automate end-to-end network test cases (control-plane, data-plane, performance, stress/soak) using the inhouse test framework used by Datacenter Network Engineering (DNE) team.
• Build and run traffic-generation tests in lab environments.
• Convert qualification test plans into automated, repeatable suites and onboard them as Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) conveyor nodes (Datacenter / Backbone (DC/BB) push pipelines) that gate releases.
• Triage test failures for flakiness vs. legitimate regressions; file and track issues to the appropriate oncall.
• Maintain and improve existing automation, test configs, and lab tooling.
• Collaborate with lab infra, Routing, and FBOSS Cross-Functional (XFN) partners to unblock coverage.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5-8+ years in software/network test automation or Quality Assurance (QA) engineering.
• Strong Python (test frameworks, scripting, debugging).
• Hands-on networking fundamentals: Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), routing/forwarding, L2/L3, data-plane vs. control-plane concepts.
• CI/CD pipeline experience and comfort working in a Linux environment with source control.
• Experience with traffic generators.
• Exposure to Open/R, BGP, Equal-Cost Multi-Path / Unequal-Cost Multi-Path (ECMP/UCMP), or large-scale DC fabric topologies.
• Experience qualifying network hardware/optics or vendor Network Operating System (NOS).
• Familiarity with lab automation, device provisioning, or scale/performance testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
• Prior FAANG/Big Tech is a plus.

Location: Menlo Park, CA [Onsite]

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $104,000 – $166,400 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
