Network Engineer II – Satellite / Teleport Operations

📍 Andover, ME (Onsite – 5 days/week)

🕒 Full-time | Rotational shifts / 24x7 coverage

🌐 About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Network Engineer II to support teleport and satellite communications operations in a mission-critical environment. This role is focused on RF, IF, baseband, and IP network troubleshooting within an earth station / satellite operations setting. You will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, testing, and restoring satellite and terrestrial network services while ensuring high availability and adherence to strict operational procedures.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and support earth station and satellite communication systems in real time
- Perform testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting across RF, IF, baseband, and IP layers
- Support installation, configuration, and testing of telecom equipment (routers, switches, modems, amplifiers, multiplexers)
- Respond to network anomalies and service degradation events following SOPs and escalation procedures
- Coordinate service turn-ups and restoration activities with internal and external stakeholders
- Perform shift-based operational support in a 24x7 environment
- Support emergency restoration during outages (including power or satellite link failures)
- Work closely with government, international, and enterprise customers to maintain service quality

🎯 Required Qualifications

- 3–5 years of experience in Satellite Communications / Teleport / RF operations
- Strong understanding of RF, IF, baseband, and satellite transmission systems
- Solid experience in IP networking (routing, switching, troubleshooting)
- Hands-on experience in a NOC or network operations environment (24x7 support preferred)
- Ability to work onsite in Andover, ME (5 days/week)
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, on-call, and emergency coverage
- Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent 3+ years of relevant experience

⭐ Nice to Have

- CCNA / CCNP or other Cisco certifications
- Experience with spectrum analyzers, BER testers, or telecom test equipment
- Background in defense, aerospace, or government telecom environments
- Technical training in Electronics, Telecommunications, or RF systems
- Military or accredited technical school experience in satellite communications
