Job Overview
As a Network Engineer, you’ll design, configure, and support secure, reliable network infrastructure across local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and data center environments. You’ll help keep IT services and communications systems connected by managing network hardware, routing, switching, firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), and monitoring tools. This role works across network engineering, system administration, network security, and technical troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, Meraki, Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), and network switching.
- Support IP networking, TCP/IP, Ethernet, DNS, DHCP, VPN configuration and management, IPsec, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Monitor network performance with tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk; troubleshoot equipment, connectivity, load balancing, and high availability issues.
- Strengthen security through authentication, encryption, public key infrastructure (PKI), intrusion detection systems (IDS), cloud security, and vulnerability assessments.

Experience
- Experience in network engineering, administration, support, installation, configuration, and hardware troubleshooting; data center or telecommunication experience is valuable.
- Knowledge of computer networking, network protocols, system design, quality of service (QoS), storage area networks (SAN), and network architecture.
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux distributions such as Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, and openSUSE, UNIX/BSD, macOS, VMware/vSphere, Azure, and Citrix.
- Scripting or automation experience with Python, Ansible, PowerShell, or Bash is useful; exposure to Active Directory, LDAP, Group Policy Objects (GPO), single sign-on (SSO), APIs, and IT service management practices is preferred.
- A degree in computer science or related experience is relevant. Familiarity with Agile and software development life cycle (SDLC) practices is a plus.
