Entry Level NP Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level np job?
Focus on highlighting your clinical rotation experience, preceptorships, and any specialty certifications earned during your program. Entry level np employers typically look for board certification, a current state license, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a care team. Tailoring your application to the specific patient population or setting, such as primary care or urgent care, gives you a meaningful edge at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level nps?
Companies hiring entry level nps right now include Optum, Signify Health, and LifeStance Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, you will find openings across health systems, outpatient clinics, federally qualified health centers, and staffing groups that routinely bring on new graduates and candidates completing their first year of practice.
Are there remote entry level np jobs?
Yes, though most entry level np roles still require in-person patient care. About 10% of entry level np openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and these tend to be in telehealth platforms, chronic disease management programs, or administrative clinical roles that do not require hands-on examination. In-person positions remain the dominant format for candidates building foundational clinical skills.
Are these new grad np jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior np roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of post-certification experience, accepts clinical rotation hours in place of independent practice history, and may also consider a strong portfolio of supervised patient encounters or specialty coursework as qualifying experience.
Which industries hire the most entry level nps?
Entry level np roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate high patient volumes, face ongoing provider shortages, and have structured onboarding programs designed to support nps who are transitioning from supervised clinical training into independent or collaborative practice.
