Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita is seeking a candidate for a full-time faculty position to join an existing team of pediatric hematology/oncology physicians. The position offers an exciting opportunity to practice evidence-based medicine in a rapidly growing multidisciplinary Pediatric Hematology and Oncology program in affiliation with our primary clinical partner, Wesley Children’s Hospital.

Qualified Candidates:

• A successful candidate must have an interest in practicing both hematology and oncology in an academic program
• Education: MD or DO Degree or foreign degree equivalent
• Board eligible or certified in Pediatrics
• Board eligible or certified in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
• This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position
• Patient care 80%, teaching 10%, research/scholarly activities 10%
• Equitable participation in call coverage is expected

• Wesley Children’s Hospital includes the largest delivery service and neonatal ICU in the state of Kansas, a 35-bed pediatric inpatient unit, 15-bed pediatric ICU and the state’s only Children’s Oncology Group certified pediatric oncology service line
• Relevant service lines include pediatric anesthesia, pediatric radiology, pediatric emergency medicine, centralized pediatric sedation, pediatric hospital medicine, child life and pediatric clinical pharmacy
• There are over 25 American Board of Pediatrics certified medical specialties availability in the community, in addition to pediatric general, orthopedic and plastic surgery
