Job Summary:
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita is seeking a candidate for a full-time faculty position to join an existing team of pediatric hematology/oncology physicians. The position offers an exciting opportunity to practice evidence-based medicine in a rapidly growing multidisciplinary Pediatric Hematology and Oncology program in affiliation with our primary clinical partner, Wesley Children’s Hospital.
Qualified Candidates:
- A successful candidate must have an interest in practicing both hematology and oncology in an academic program
- Education: MD or DO Degree or foreign degree equivalent
- Board eligible or certified in Pediatrics
- Board eligible or certified in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
- This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position
- Patient care 80%, teaching 10%, research/scholarly activities 10%
- Equitable participation in call coverage is expected

The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita (KUSM-W) Department of Pediatrics is a robust, comprehensive and thriving group of dedicated generalist, specialist, hospitalist and newborn providers delivering pediatric clinical care, education, scholarship and advocacy as part of our medical school campus, one of three in the University of Kansas system. The Wichita campus serves over 200 medical students and boasts state-of-the-art technical capabilities including a new simulation center. The KUSM-W Department of Pediatrics collaborates extensively in the community and region to provide general and tertiary care to the children and families in the Western two-thirds of the state.
Wesley Children’s Hospital:
- Wesley Children’s Hospital includes the largest delivery service and neonatal ICU in the state of Kansas, a 35-bed pediatric inpatient unit, 15-bed pediatric ICU and the state’s only Children’s Oncology Group certified pediatric oncology service line
- Relevant service lines include pediatric anesthesia, pediatric radiology, pediatric emergency medicine, centralized pediatric sedation, pediatric hospital medicine, child life and pediatric clinical pharmacy
- There are over 25 American Board of Pediatrics certified medical specialties availability in the community, in addition to pediatric general, orthopedic and plastic surgery
