Description
American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for an academic medical center requiring 1+ year of CVOR experience and MO or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the CVOR at a research and academic medical center
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM
- Call required, approximately 14 per month, split among CV staff and including weekend call
- Floating required to Vascular and General surgery units
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; CNOR and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience required
- Level 1 trauma and Level 2 trauma experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior charge experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Vascular surgery skills preferred, including AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, EVAR, and TEVAR
- Cardiovascular surgery skills preferred, including CABG, TAVR, and VAD
- General surgery and endoscopic procedure experience preferred
- Experience with cell saver, electrosurgical units, and Steris equipment
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care across CVOR, vascular, cardiovascular, thoracic, and general surgery cases
- Support for trauma cases including gunshot/stab wounds and multi-injury trauma
- Work in a hybrid OR and general OR setting as needed
- Fit testing for respirator masks is required, and candidates must be clean-shaven to ensure a proper seal
- No medical or religious exemptions are accepted for fit testing requirements
- Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted for this position
- Travelers are not eligible to work beyond 1 year at this facility without taking a 6-month break
- First-time travelers may be considered as long as they meet the 1 year CVOR experience requirement
