Location: Kent Campus Hospital
Status: Full Time 72 Hours
Shift: Variable
SALARY RANGE: 37.98 - 58.87 HOURLY
General Summary:
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures, and nursing philosophy.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
- Develops a patient centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
- Maintains confidentiality of the patient medical record.
- Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans.
- Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
- Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
- Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
- Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Performs nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
- Demonstrates quality, safe and effective patient care.
- Provides delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
- Demonstrates standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork, and integrity.
- Demonstrates understanding and executes quality and performance improvement plans. (only for RN evaluation)
- Participates in decision making and takes actions based on ethical principles. (only for RN evaluation)
- Provides timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
- All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
- Education: Associate Degree; Nursing
- Credential(s): Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support
- Experience: None required/new graduates.
Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor Degree, Nursing
- Credential(s): Certification related to the position, if applicable.
- Experience: Experience in relevant specialty.
