We are looking for an experienced and certified Sterile Technician to join our team and help us maintain our reputation for quality and care.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Sterile Compounding Technician with extensive experience in acute care and hazardous drug handling. The ideal candidate will be an expert in USP <797> and <800> regulations, capable of preparing complex IV compounds, with a zero-error mentality. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance and ensuring the safety of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Sterile Compounding: Prepare sterile IV compounds daily, including hazardous drug infusions, strictly adhering to USP <797> and <800> protocols.
• Quality Assurance: Lead and participate in quality assurance initiatives, including media fill testing, environmental monitoring (ISO 5/7), and maintaining a zero-contamination track record.
• Hazardous Drug Handling: Execute safe handling, preparation, and disposal of hazardous drugs while maintaining proper PPE and decontamination procedures.
• Documentation & Compliance: Serve as a subject matter expert for compounding software (experience with PioneerRX preferred). Manage Beyond-Use-Date (BUD) tracking, environmental monitoring logs, and regulatory documentation to meet Joint Commission standards.
• Staff Training: Assist in the training and mentorship of pharmacy staff on aseptic technique, cleanroom protocols, and hazardous drug safety.
• Collaboration: Work closely with clinical pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure accurate dosing and safe medication administration.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Certification: Must hold an active Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) certification and Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB.
• Licensure: Must possess an Active or Pending Nevada Pharmacy Technician License.
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in sterile compounding
• Ability to provide professional references upon request

Required Skills:

• Expert proficiency in USP <797> and <800> compliance standards.
• Strong aseptic technique and cleanroom behavior (ISO 5/7 hoods).
• Experience preparing hazardous drugs
• Proven ability to manage environmental monitoring and media fill testing.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with excellent problem-solving skills.
