Physician Assistant Jobs in Milwaukee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physician assistant job in Milwaukee?
Focus your search on Milwaukee's large integrated health systems, which drive the bulk of local hiring across urgent care, hospital medicine, and specialty clinics. The Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin system, Aurora Health Care, and Children's Wisconsin are the dominant employer types. Candidates with surgical or emergency medicine rotations completed in the region, or familiarity with Epic EHR, tend to move faster through hiring pipelines here than generalist applicants.
Which companies hire physician assistants in Milwaukee?
Milwaukee physician assistant roles are posted by Advocate Aurora Health, Optum, and Serve You Rx and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Milwaukee's market is anchored by large academic health systems and regional multi-specialty groups, with federally qualified health centers in neighborhoods like Clarke Square and Lindsay Heights also posting regularly.
Are there remote physician assistant jobs in Milwaukee?
Remote work is uncommon for physician assistants given the hands-on, patient-facing nature of the role. About 100% of physician assistant openings tied to Milwaukee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions tend to be in telehealth urgent care, chronic disease management, or prior authorization and utilization review roles rather than traditional clinical positions.
How can I get a physician assistant job in Milwaukee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Milwaukee is through urgent care or occupational health clinics, which hire new graduates more readily than competitive surgical or specialty programs. Milwaukee-area federally qualified health centers and correctional health contractors also tend to be more open to first-year PAs. Completing clinical rotations within the Froedtert or Aurora systems gives new graduates a meaningful network advantage when full-time openings post internally.
