Overview
At Ford, you’ll work on ideas that matter, alongside passionate people who want to make a global impact. Together, we’re shaping the next era of transportation—grounded in purpose, driven by progress. Make your move.
- Job Type: Full time
- Work Type: Hybrid
This role sits in Ford’s Connected Vehicle Software’s Work Management System team, supporting an enterprise-scale Jama Connect environment used across vehicle development. Your responsibilities will be divided between ongoing operational support and implementing project-driven improvements, focusing on updating application lifecycle management processes, enhancing system integrations, and increasing comprehensive traceability for engineering teams and organizational leadership.
What you'll do...
- Operate and support Jama Connect in an enterprise-scale, including administration, troubleshooting, and user enablement via a ticket-driven support model.
- Configure and maintain Jama Connect projects: item types, workflows, relationship rules, baselines, review/approval flows, permissions, and project templates.
- Respond to user requests and incidents (access provisioning, defects, performance/usage issues), providing clear guidance and driving issues to resolution with internal partners and vendors as needed.
- Deliver platform improvements, including new capabilities, process standardization, and usability enhancements that improve engineering outcomes.
- Build, maintain, and enhance integrations between Jama Connect and adjacent toolchains (e.g., issue tracking, test management, source control, CI/CD) using REST APIs and scripting/automation.
- Troubleshoot integration failures end-to-end (authentication, data mapping, event timing, API limits), implement fixes, and improve monitoring/operability to reduce recurring incidents.
- Plan and execute data migrations, cleanup, and standardization efforts (field normalization, duplicate reduction, hierarchy/relationship repair) to improve data quality and reporting reliability.
- Support data exchange activities using ReqIF (import/export), including migrations, supplier/customer interchange, and troubleshooting data/relationship fidelity.
- Develop reporting and information radiators that improve traceability transparency for program teams and leadership (coverage, status, gaps, risk/aging), with an emphasis on actionable insights.
- Contribute to governance: define and maintain standards, templates, best practices, and change-management practices that scale across a large engineering organization.
You’ll Have…
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 3–5 years of experience administering, supporting, or engineering solutions around an ALM/requirements/test/issue platform.
- Hands-on experience with at least one comparable tool such as Polarion, IBM DOORS/DOORS Next, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- 3–5 years’ experience importing/exporting requirements using ReqIF (or similar interchange formats) to support migrations and cross-organization data exchange.
- 3–5 years’ experience with Intermediate scripting experience (Python preferred) and comfort building automation to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
- 3–5 years’ experience with working knowledge of REST APIs (authentication, endpoints, payloads, pagination) and the ability to use APIs to integrate systems and automate repeatable tasks.
- 3–5 years’ experience demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot integrations and production issues using logs, data analysis, and systematic root-cause investigation.
- 3–5 years’ experience working in a ticket-driven support model with strong written communication and customer focus.
- Ability to balance operational support with delivery of project-based enhancements in a multi-stakeholder environment.
Even better, you may have…
- Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence, including workflow concepts and cross-tool traceability.
- Experience with integration platforms such as Planview Hub (or similar iPaaS/connectors) to connect ALM toolchains.
- Familiarity with GitHub and GitHub Actions, especially where automation supports ALM governance and traceability.
- Exposure to test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Xray) and integrating test artifacts with requirements and defects.
- Experience creating dashboards, reports, or information radiators that communicate traceability, status, and risk to technical and leadership audiences.
