The iWork team is looking for a Software Developer in Test with a background with productivity apps to contribute to the development of innovative tools for creative professionals. It requires a highly proactive individual with strong creative, technical and analytic skills and passion for new technologies including in automation and machine learning.
Description
We are looking for a talented individual who will develop, drive, and deliver scalable test automation solutions. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop mission-critical test solutions that directly impact the quality of our consumer facing applications. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, writing, maintaining and executing end-end test cases manually and through automation using Swift and Python. You will drive all aspects of quality and process improvements to help the team ensure that our features are rock-solid and ready to be released to our customers. Report bugs with outstanding isolation and regression techniques will be the key to your success. This role requires balancing a wide variety of deliverables that will rely on your talent for managing priorities and communicating progress and risks effectively and systematically. Your ongoing curiosity and dedication to self-education in the unique features and workflows of Keynote, Numbers, Pages, and Freeform apps as well as new testing techniques is what will set you apart. You will be working closely with other team members to help coordinate multi-functional test efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience with productivity or creativity software such as word processors, presentation apps, or similar consumer applications
Familiarity with backend or service testing
Minimum Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience in QA/QE with a strong emphasis on test automation development
Strong programming skills (such as Swift or Python) with a track record of writing clean, maintainable, well-architected test code
Proven experience designing, building, and owning UI automation frameworks, suites, and supporting tooling from the ground up
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and diagnosing, triaging, and reducing test flakiness at scale
Experience automating across multiple platforms (Desktop and Mobile)
Strong understanding of testing strategy: knowing what to automate, at what layer, and how to maximize coverage and signal
Confirmed bug detection, isolation, and regression skills; able to reduce a vague report to a clean, reproducible case
Able to translate feature descriptions and specs into effective, well organized automated test plans
Able to write clear, concise bug reports that include all the relevant information
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
Analytical, disciplined, and creative problem solver, committed to driving quality forward
Ability to adapt in a high paced and informal environment
Hands-on experience writing and maintaining automated test frameworks using XCTest and/or XCUITest for iOS and/or macOS platforms
Solid understanding of software development fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
Experience with version control systems such as Git in a collaborative development environment
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience;
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
