DESCRIPTION
Amazon's Integrated Design Solutions (IDS) team is looking for an Architectural Design Lead to lead a fast-moving, high-visibility program focused on rapid composite design delivery and operational readiness. This is a hands-on role that blends 2D/3D design execution with project and program management — built for someone who can do the work, run the program, and keep cross-functional teams aligned all at once.
You'll collaborate closely with design teams across the organization, driving composite delivery from kickoff to completion with speed and precision. If you think quickly, communicate clearly under pressure, and take pride in delivering high-quality design work on a tight timeline — this role was made for you.
Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end composite design delivery for a high-impact program, producing accurate 2D/3D designs using AutoCAD and Revit
- Manage project and program timelines, tracking deliverables, surfacing risks early, and keeping stakeholders informed
- Collaborate closely and continuously with design teams to align on scope, resolve blockers, and accelerate delivery
- Translate operational requirements into composite designs that meet construction and launch standards
- Support clash detection and under-the-roof design validation to reduce rework and protect capital investment
- Communicate proactively with business partners to maintain visibility on program status and design decisions
- Adapt quickly as project requirements evolve, maintaining quality without sacrificing speed
A day in the life
Your day is split between doing and managing. In the morning, you might be heads-down in Revit working through a composite, and by afternoon you're in a review with design partners, tracking open items and making sure nothing is blocking delivery. You're the person who knows where every deliverable stands, what's at risk, and what needs to happen next.
You communicate clearly, make quick decisions, and bring people with you. When the timeline tightens — and it will — you stay focused, stay collaborative, and find a way through.
If you are not sure that every qualification on the list above describes you exactly, we'd still love to hear from you! At Amazon, we value people with unique backgrounds, experiences, and skillsets. If you’re passionate about this role and want to make an impact on a global scale, please apply!

Product Design Lead Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product design lead in Texas?
Product design lead roles in Texas do not require a state-issued license or certification. The typical path starts with a bachelor's degree in product design, interaction design, or human-computer interaction, followed by several years as an individual contributor designer building a portfolio of shipped digital products. Texas employers, particularly in Austin's tech corridor and Dallas's enterprise software sector, look for designers who have mentored others and led cross-functional work before moving into a formal lead title.
Which companies hire product design leads in Texas?
Employers hiring product design leads in Texas right now include Photon, Synthesis Systems, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of enterprise technology companies, financial institutions, and fast-growing software startups keeps consistent demand for experienced design leaders across the state.
Which Texas cities have the most product design lead jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Plano have the most product design lead openings in Texas. Austin leads because of its dense cluster of technology companies and startups, Dallas draws significant demand from enterprise software and financial services firms headquartered in the metro, and Houston's energy and healthcare technology sectors add a distinct hiring base that sets it apart from the other two markets.
Are there remote product design lead jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. Product design lead work is primarily screen-based and collaborative through digital tools, making it well suited to remote arrangements. About 0% of product design lead openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, which is consistent with broader technology hiring trends. The portions of the role most likely to stay remote are individual design work, critiques, and stakeholder reviews, while in-person presence is more common for strategy sessions and team onboarding.
How can I get hired as a product design lead in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to build toward a lead title from a senior or mid-level product designer role at a Texas-based company rather than applying to lead positions directly. Large Texas employers like Dell Technologies and IBM run rotational design programs and new-grad associate tracks that place designers into structured team environments. Adjacent roles such as UX designer, product designer, or design researcher at Texas technology and healthcare firms give candidates the cross-functional exposure and mentorship opportunities that hiring managers look for before promoting or hiring into a lead seat. A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking is the credential that most consistently accelerates that progression.
Where can I find and apply to product design lead jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to product design lead jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Find roles that fit your experience and specialty and apply directly to the ones that match.
