About the job
In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's diverse product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration, and more).
As a Product Solutions Engineer on the Payments Platform team, you will play a key role in enabling Google's own products and services to generate their offerings effectively. You will work closely with some of Google's key product teams, such as Fiber, Shopping, Android, and Chrome, providing technical expertise and support for their payment integrations. Your work will directly contribute to Google's revenue growth and global expansion.
In this technical role with opportunities for business interaction, you will help bridge the gap between our internal partners' business goals and the capabilities of the Google Payments Platform. You'll leverage your technical expertise to implement and configure payment solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and actively identify and develop opportunities for automation, scripting, and product improvements. You will support partners through geo expansions and new feature launches by executing the technical aspects of the payment integrations, helping to ensure a seamless and reliable payment experience for Google's users worldwide.
Google creates products and services that make the world a better place, and gTech’s role is to help bring them to life. Our teams of trusted advisors support customers globally. Our solutions are rooted in our technical skill, product expertise, and a thorough understanding of our customers’ complex needs. Product Engineer Jobs in Sunnyvale: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a product engineer job in Sunnyvale?
The strongest path into Sunnyvale's product engineer market runs through its semiconductor and networking hardware companies, which cluster around Moffett Park and the Lawrence Expressway corridor. Candidates with hands-on hardware bring-up experience, systems integration, or cross-functional NPI work stand out here. Targeting mid-size chip design firms and established networking equipment companies gives you the best odds, since those employers hire product engineers continuously rather than only at product launch cycles.
Which companies hire product engineers in Sunnyvale?
Employers hiring product engineers in Sunnyvale right now include Google, Amazon, and Apple, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The local market is anchored by semiconductor firms, networking hardware companies, and consumer electronics divisions with deep Sunnyvale R&D footprints.
Are there remote product engineer jobs in Sunnyvale?
Yes, though product engineering is one of the more on-site-heavy roles because hardware validation, lab access, and cross-functional prototype reviews often require physical presence. About 10% of product engineer openings tied to Sunnyvale are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with remote arrangements most common in software-defined product lines and systems architecture work rather than in hands-on hardware characterization roles.
How can I get a product engineer job in Sunnyvale with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Sunnyvale is a test engineering or product validation associate role at one of the area's semiconductor or networking hardware companies, which routinely hire new graduates for structured NPI support positions. Sunnyvale employers also draw heavily from nearby San Jose State and Santa Clara University co-op and internship pipelines, so applying directly through those programs builds a local footprint fast. A background in lab work, schematic reading, or failure analysis gives entry-level candidates a clear edge over generalists.
Which industries hire the most product engineers in Sunnyvale?
Most product engineer openings in Sunnyvale sit in Electronics & Hardware, Technology & Software, and Telecommunications, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors dominate Sunnyvale's economy because the city has served as a longtime base for chip design, enterprise networking, and consumer device development, creating sustained and recurring demand for product engineers across the product lifecycle.
