Job Title: Visiting Assistant Professor - Philosophy
Department: Philosophy
Essential Functions
The University of Nebraska at Omaha seeks a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor for a one-year appointment to begin August 17, 2026. This position may be renewable. Four courses per semester (eight courses per academic year) with opportunity for upper-level undergraduate teaching. AOS: Open but must demonstrate a strong ability to teach Ethics, including normative ethics and ethical theory. AOC: Open but a record of research or teaching in the Philosophy of Technology, Machine Intelligence, or Applied sciences is desirable. Excellence in teaching is essential.
Required Qualifications
M.A. in Philosophy or equivalent (defined as a minimum of 18 graduate coursework credit hours in Philosophy and ABD status in a Philosophy graduate program).
