Project Lead Jobs in Memphis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project lead job in Memphis?
Your strongest entry point is targeting Memphis's logistics and supply chain sector, healthcare systems, and commercial construction firms, which consistently post project lead openings. Concentrating your search in East Memphis corporate corridors and the Downtown development zone gives you access to the densest hiring activity. Candidates with PMP certification, experience coordinating cross-functional teams, or familiarity with large-scale distribution operations stand out in this market.
Which companies hire project leads in Memphis?
Employers hiring project leads in Memphis right now include AutoZone, Turner Construction Company, and ENFRA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Memphis draws a mix of logistics giants, regional health systems, and infrastructure contractors, all of which regularly need project leads to manage complex, multi-site operations.
Are there remote project lead jobs in Memphis?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role type. Project leads in construction, manufacturing, and on-site logistics almost always require a physical presence, while those in IT, healthcare administration, and program management often allow remote or hybrid arrangements. About 33% of project lead openings tied to Memphis are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. Technology-focused project lead roles originating from Memphis-based employers tend to offer the most schedule flexibility.
How can I get a project lead job in Memphis with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving into a project coordinator or project specialist role first, particularly with Memphis's hospital systems or logistics companies, which regularly hire entry-level candidates and promote from within. Gaining familiarity with project management tools like Asana or Microsoft Project, volunteering to run internal initiatives at your current employer, and pursuing a CAPM credential all strengthen your profile. Memphis's active construction and distribution sectors also hire assistant project managers with limited formal experience.
