Boone Creek Plumbing is hiring a Commercial Plumbing Project Manager to own a book of new construction and remodel projects across Middle Tennessee. We are a locally owned and operated company, and our commercial division is growing.
You will own your projects end to end. Your own crews, your schedule management, and your own relationships with the general contractors. This is not a coordinator role reporting into someone else’s decisions.
What you’ll own
- Manage a book of commercial plumbing projects from award through closeout, typically ranging from $25,000 to $500,000 in contract value
- Direct two to three crews in an assigned territory, working through your foremen
- Take off material, place orders, and manage lead times against the schedule
- Run submittals, RFIs and change orders, and keep the paperwork ahead of the field
- Build and hold the schedule, and coordinate with the general contractor and other trades
- Own job cost and margin on every project you run, and report against it
- Walk your jobs regularly — this is not a desk position
- Support estimating on bid walks and takeoffs for work in your territory
- Manage billing and pay applications with the office
- Develop your foremen and help them grow into larger work
What we require
- 5+ years in commercial plumbing or mechanical construction, including at least 3 years managing projects
- Proven ownership of job cost and margin on commercial projects
- Fluent reading of commercial plans, specifications and submittals
- Experience running work through foremen rather than doing it yourself
- Working knowledge of plumbing code, inspection sequence and the permitting process
- Comfortable in front of general contractors, owners and inspectors
- Competent with scheduling, takeoff and project management software
- Valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record

- Estimating experience on commercial plumbing work
- Tennessee plumbing license, or a CMC-A or CMC classification
