Real Estate Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a real estate agent in Tennessee?
You must obtain a license through the Tennessee Real Estate Commission, which oversees all agent and broker licensing in the state. The path starts with completing the required pre-licensing education hours from a state-approved provider, then passing the Tennessee licensing exam. After passing, you affiliate with a licensed Tennessee broker, who sponsors your application to the Commission before you can legally represent clients.
Which companies hire real estate agents in Tennessee?
Tennessee real estate roles are posted by Choice Homes, Be One Team, and Marcus & Millichap and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tennessee's strong population growth, especially in the Nashville metro, has kept a wide range of national franchises and locally founded brokerages consistently hiring throughout the state.
Which Tennessee cities have the most real estate jobs?
Nashville, Memphis, and Brentwood are the Tennessee cities with the most real estate openings right now. Nashville's rapid residential and commercial expansion drives the largest share of postings, while Memphis supports steady demand through its investment property and commercial sectors, and Knoxville's growing population has kept residential brokerage and property management roles consistently available.
Are there remote real estate jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, but they're rare. Real estate work is fundamentally place-based, so most roles require in-person showings, inspections, or client meetings. About 60% of real estate openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to be in back-office functions like transaction coordination, marketing, or property management administration rather than client-facing sales roles.
How can I get hired as a real estate agent in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is joining a large brokerage that runs a structured training program for newly licensed agents, since firms like Crye-Leike Realtors and national franchises operating in Nashville and Memphis regularly onboard new licensees and pair them with mentors. Completing your Tennessee Real Estate Commission license is the credential that opens those doors, and lateral experience in mortgage lending, title work, or property management in Tennessee can strengthen an application even without transaction history.
Where can I find and apply to real estate jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to real estate jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings across residential, commercial, and property management roles. Search for positions that match your license level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit your background and location.
