Real Estate Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a real estate agent in Texas?
You become a licensed real estate agent in Texas by completing the education hours required by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), passing the state licensing exam, and finding a sponsoring broker before you can practice. TREC oversees all licensing, continuing education, and renewals in Texas. Most candidates complete their pre-license coursework through an approved Texas school, then submit their application through the TREC online portal.
Which companies hire real estate professionals in Texas?
Texas real estate roles are posted by The Cannon Team, Marcus & Millichap, and Ryan Smith Home Selling Team and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's scale as a commercial and residential market means national firms, regional brokerages, and large corporate real estate departments all maintain active hiring pipelines across the state.
Which Texas cities have the most real estate jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most real estate openings in Texas. Houston's size as an energy and logistics hub drives heavy demand for commercial and industrial real estate specialists, while Dallas's corporate headquarters concentration fuels office and mixed-use leasing roles, and Austin's sustained population and tech-sector growth keeps residential and multifamily hiring consistently strong.
Are there remote real estate jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're limited, since most real estate work is tied to physical properties, client showings, and in-person closings. About 51% of real estate openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting a market where most roles require local presence. The positions most likely to offer remote or hybrid arrangements are corporate real estate analyst, transaction coordinator, and property management support roles.
How can I get hired in real estate in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is obtaining your Texas Real Estate License through TREC, which requires no prior experience and opens the door to joining a sponsoring brokerage as an agent. Large Texas brokerages and property management companies regularly bring on new licensees in training roles, and firms managing multifamily portfolios often hire leasing consultants with no background. A background in customer service, finance, or property management administration gives candidates a meaningful edge when applying to entry-level brokerage or asset management positions.
Where can I find and apply to real estate jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to real estate jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across residential, commercial, and property management roles. Search the listings to see what's available right now, find a role that fits your background and market focus, and apply directly to the employer.
