Real Estate Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a real estate agent in Texas?
To become a licensed real estate agent in Texas, you must complete the required pre-license education hours approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission, pass the Texas Real Estate Sales Agent exam, and submit an application through TREC. You will also need to be sponsored by a licensed Texas broker before your license becomes active. TREC oversees all licensing, continuing education, and renewals in the state.
Which companies hire real estate professionals in Texas?
Employers hiring real estate professionals in Texas right now include Anywhere Real Estate, RangeWater Real Estate, and First American, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's large and fast-growing metro areas mean that both national brokerage firms and regional independents maintain consistent hiring pipelines throughout the year.
Which Texas cities have the most real estate jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Houston have the most real estate job openings in Texas right now. Houston drives volume through its commercial and energy-sector real estate demand, Dallas through its large corporate relocation market and multifamily development boom, and Austin through rapid residential growth and tech-driven commercial expansion that has drawn national brokerages and property management firms to the market.
Are there remote real estate jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they are rare. Most real estate roles require on-site presence for property showings, inspections, and client meetings. About 9% of real estate openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to be in support functions such as transaction coordination, real estate marketing, and back-office operations rather than client-facing brokerage or property management roles.
How can I get hired in real estate in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is obtaining your Texas Real Estate Sales Agent license through TREC, which does not require prior industry experience, and then joining a large brokerage that runs structured onboarding programs for new agents, such as Keller Williams, RE/MAX Texas affiliates, or Coldwell Banker regional offices. Many candidates also come in through adjacent roles like leasing consultant at a multifamily property or transaction coordinator at a title company, building practical Texas contract knowledge before moving into an agent or associate role.
Where can I find and apply to real estate jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to real estate jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across residential, commercial, and property management roles. Search the listings to find roles that match your license level and specialty, then apply directly to the employers posting them.
