VP Sales Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a vp sales in Tennessee?
Most vp sales positions in Tennessee do not require a state-issued license, but the path typically starts with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, often followed by an MBA for competitive roles. Tennessee employers expect a progression from individual contributor to sales manager to director before a VP appointment. Industries like healthcare and financial services may expect additional sector-specific credentials or compliance training before a candidate is considered for executive-level sales leadership.
How much do VP saleses make in Tennessee?
VP saleses in Tennessee earn a median of about $128,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $67,220 for the lowest 10% to over $231,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire vp saless in Tennessee?
Companies currently hiring vp saless in Tennessee include JPMorganChase, Ardent Health Services, and Health Support Center, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tennessee's concentration of healthcare systems, logistics companies, and manufacturing headquarters means vp sales openings here tend to carry regional or national scope, often managing multi-state teams from a Tennessee base.
Which Tennessee cities have the most vp sales jobs?
Nashville, Brentwood, and Memphis have the most vp sales openings in Tennessee. Nashville drives the largest share of postings because of its dense concentration of healthcare corporations, technology firms, and professional services companies, while Memphis draws demand from logistics and supply chain employers headquartered there, and Knoxville reflects activity from energy, manufacturing, and regional retail organizations.
Are there remote vp sales jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than many executive roles, because vp sales work is relationship- and outcomes-driven rather than tied to a fixed facility. About 63% of vp sales openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how many employers treat this role as location-flexible. Strategic planning, pipeline management, and executive reporting functions are most commonly performed remotely, while team coaching and major client meetings typically require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a vp sales in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building a record in a quota-carrying individual contributor role, then moving into a sales manager position, which Tennessee employers in healthcare and logistics regularly hire for at the associate level. Companies like HCA Healthcare and large Nashville-area technology firms run structured sales leadership development programs that promote high performers into director-track roles. A strong CRM proficiency and a documented record of exceeding targets in an adjacent role, such as regional account manager or national accounts director, can open the door even without a VP title.
Where can I find and apply to vp sales jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to vp sales jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and target industry, and apply directly to each position that fits your background.
