Project Management Analyst Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project management analyst in New York?
A bachelor's degree in business administration, management information systems, or a related field is the standard starting point for project management analyst roles in New York. No state-issued license is required, but earning the CAPM from the Project Management Institute is the most recognized entry-level credential among New York employers. Most candidates then build toward the PMP as they gain experience. Financial services and healthcare firms in New York frequently require both.
How much do project management analysts make in New York?
Project management analysts in New York earn a median of about $121,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $74,580 for the lowest 10% to over $192,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire project management analysts in New York?
Employers hiring project management analysts in New York right now include Morgan Stanley, Amazon, and Citi, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's density of financial institutions, large health systems, and technology firms means demand for project management analysts stays consistent year-round rather than spiking seasonally.
Which New York cities have the most project management analyst jobs?
New York, New York City, and Albany have the most project management analyst openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its concentration of global banks, insurers, and technology firms, while Buffalo draws demand from healthcare networks and manufacturing operations, and Albany's government agencies and state-contracted IT projects sustain a steady need for analysts.
Are there remote project management analyst jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 33% of project management analyst openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the work centers on documentation, reporting, and virtual coordination rather than physical presence. Roles in IT project coordination and financial operations analysis are the most likely to offer fully remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a project management analyst in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a business analyst, operations coordinator, or administrative project support role at a large New York employer. Firms like Northwell Health and major financial institutions in New York City hire project coordinators and junior PMO analysts specifically to develop candidates without senior experience. Earning the CAPM before applying and building a portfolio of process documentation or scheduling examples gives candidates a concrete edge in those initial conversations.
Where can I find and apply to project management analyst jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to project management analyst jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to each one.
