Job Description

We’re looking for experienced and enthusiastic baristas to join our team! You’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming environment and consistently serving excellent coffee, tea, and light food items, while contributing to a new and exciting business. This is a part-time position. Full weekend availability is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Open and/or close the café following standardized procedures
• Prepare high-quality coffee and tea beverages efficiently and consistently
• Heat and assemble simple food items
• Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Provide exceptional customer service and educate guests about our menu and values
• Build rapport with regular customers and foster a welcoming environment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
• Regularly clean and maintain coffee equipment
• Take customer orders and handle transactions accurately
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and high-quality service flow
• Assist with restocking and inventory as needed
• Follow all health and safety regulations

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of barista experience (specialty coffee preferred)
• Proficiency in espresso preparation (dialing in, extraction, milk steaming, latte art, etc.)
• Strong customer service skills and a proactive attitude
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash/card transactions
• Able to stand for extended periods (up to 5 hours) and lift 20+ lbs
• Open availability, including weekends
• Must obtain a valid Chicago Food Handler’s License before starting

Base Pay: $16.60 - $20.00 per hour
