Charlotte's mix of large financial institutions, regional health systems, and mid-size software companies creates consistent demand across both corporate and startup environments.

The most realistic entry path in Charlotte is targeting QA associate or junior tester roles at mid-size software companies and fintech startups in South End and University City, where teams are small enough to train entry-level hires. A portfolio of personal test plans or a ISTQB Foundation certificate helps substitute for professional experience. Lateral moves from customer support or data entry roles inside larger Charlotte employers are also a common on-ramp, since those teams value people who already know the product.
