Entry Level Quality Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level quality engineer job?
Entry level quality engineer roles reward candidates who can demonstrate hands-on familiarity with quality management systems, inspection processes, or statistical methods like SPC. Coursework in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial technology gives you a foundation, and a senior capstone project or internship that involved auditing, testing, or root-cause analysis makes your application stand out. Certifications such as the ASQ Certified Quality Inspector credential also signal commitment to the field early in your career.
Which companies hire entry level quality engineers?
Companies hiring entry level quality engineers right now include Joby Aviation, Walmart, and Lockheed Martin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring covers manufacturers, medical device companies, aerospace suppliers, and consumer goods producers that need early-career engineers to support inspection, documentation, and process improvement work.
Are there remote entry level quality engineer jobs?
Yes, though most quality engineer roles at the entry level are on-site given the hands-on nature of inspection and manufacturing work. About 9% of entry level quality engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to focus on documentation, supplier quality audits, or quality systems work that can be done without a factory floor presence.
Are these new grad quality engineer jobs?
Yes, listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior quality engineer roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or co-op work in place of full-time history, or lists a degree as the primary qualification rather than a long list of past roles. Look for language like "entry level," "new graduate," or "will train" in the job description as a reliable signal.
Which industries hire the most entry level quality engineers?
Entry level quality engineer roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate under strict regulatory or customer quality standards that require dedicated engineers to handle inspection, compliance documentation, and continuous improvement even for less experienced staff.
