Quality Engineer Jobs in Philadelphia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a quality engineer job in Philadelphia?
Focus your search on Philadelphia's strongest hiring sectors: pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing, medical device companies, food production facilities, and aerospace and defense contractors. Roles cluster in the Navy Yard, Northeast Philadelphia, and the King of Prussia corridor just outside the city. Candidates with hands-on experience in regulated industries, familiarity with FDA quality systems, and certifications like ASQ CQE or CQA stand out in this market.
Which companies hire quality engineers in Philadelphia?
Companies currently hiring quality engineers in Philadelphia include Comcast, Elsevier, and RELX, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Philadelphia's mix of large pharmaceutical manufacturers, regional medical device firms, and industrial food producers creates consistent demand for quality engineers at multiple experience levels.
Are there remote quality engineer jobs in Philadelphia?
Yes, but with limits. Quality engineering is often hands-on, so fully remote roles are less common than in purely desk-based fields. About 50% of quality engineer openings tied to Philadelphia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, skewing toward analytical and documentation-heavy work. Supplier quality, quality systems management, and compliance roles are the Philadelphia segments most likely to offer hybrid arrangements.
How can I get a quality engineer job in Philadelphia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Philadelphia is through manufacturing technician or quality inspector roles at pharma and food production facilities, which routinely promote internally into quality engineer positions. Contract and temp-to-hire arrangements at Northeast Philadelphia and Navy Yard manufacturers let you build regulated-industry experience quickly. A degree in engineering or a life science, paired with an ASQ Certified Quality Inspector credential, gives entry-level candidates a concrete edge with local employers.
Which industries hire the most quality engineers in Philadelphia?
Most quality engineer openings in Philadelphia sit in Technology & Software and Government & Public Sector, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Philadelphia's dense concentration of pharmaceutical campuses, medical device manufacturers, and federally contracted defense and aerospace operations makes it one of the stronger regulated-industry markets for quality engineers on the East Coast.
