Quality Assurance Specialist Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance specialist in Pennsylvania?
Most quality assurance specialists in Pennsylvania enter the field with a bachelor's degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related discipline. Pennsylvania does not issue a state-specific QA license, but employers in the state's large pharmaceutical and food manufacturing sectors expect familiarity with FDA regulations and often prefer candidates who have earned or are pursuing an ASQ certification such as the Certified Quality Auditor. Internships with the region's major pharmaceutical or defense contractors are a common bridge into the role.
Which companies hire quality assurance specialists in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring quality assurance specialists in Pennsylvania right now include Victaulic, KeystoneCare, and Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Pennsylvania's dense concentration of pharmaceutical manufacturers, food producers, and defense contractors means QA roles turn over regularly and hiring stays active well beyond the largest names.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most quality assurance specialist jobs?
The cities with the most quality assurance specialist openings in Pennsylvania are Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Bethlehem. Philadelphia and its suburbs dominate because of the region's pharmaceutical corridor along Route 202, while Pittsburgh's aerospace and medical device manufacturers fuel demand in western Pennsylvania, and mid-state markets like the Lehigh Valley see consistent openings tied to food processing and manufacturing plants.
Are there remote quality assurance specialist jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, but they're limited, because quality assurance work often requires hands-on inspection, lab presence, or direct observation on a production floor. About 31% of quality assurance specialist openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate in document control, supplier quality management, and audit coordination functions rather than hands-on inspection roles.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance specialist in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a QA technician or quality inspector role at one of Pennsylvania's food or pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, where employers regularly hire candidates with a two-year or four-year science degree and no prior QA title. Large Lehigh Valley food producers and the Philadelphia-area pharmaceutical campuses run structured new-graduate programs and co-op pipelines through Pennsylvania universities. Moving laterally from a production operator, lab analyst, or incoming inspection role is also common, and earning an ASQ entry-level certification gives candidates a concrete credential edge.
Where can I find and apply to quality assurance specialist jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to quality assurance specialist jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings across the state's pharmaceutical, manufacturing, food, and defense sectors. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly.
