Quality Management Specialist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality management specialist in Texas?
Most quality management specialist roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field, combined with an industry-recognized credential from the American Society for Quality, such as the Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor designation. Texas does not have a state-issued license specific to quality management, so earning an ASQ credential and gaining hands-on experience in a regulated Texas industry like aerospace, energy, or medical devices is the standard path employers expect.
How much do quality management specialists make in Texas?
Quality management specialists in Texas earn a median of about $75,370 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $45,170 for the lowest 10% to over $126,920 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality management specialists in Texas?
Employers hiring quality management specialists in Texas right now include Amazon, LTIMindtree, and Memorial Hermann Health System, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's strong aerospace, oil and gas, and medical device manufacturing sectors mean large defense contractors, energy companies, and health technology firms are among the most consistent sources of openings.
Which Texas cities have the most quality management specialist jobs?
Houston, Austin, and Dallas have the most quality management specialist openings in Texas right now. Houston's concentration of energy and petrochemical operations drives consistent demand there, while Dallas-Fort Worth's aerospace, logistics, and medical device manufacturing base supports a broad range of quality roles, and San Antonio's growing advanced manufacturing and military installation presence adds a steady pipeline of openings.
Are there remote quality management specialist jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since much quality management work requires on-site auditing, production floor presence, or direct supplier visits. About 13% of quality management specialist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the role's mixed nature. The parts most likely to be done remotely are documentation review, audit report writing, and supplier qualification work that does not require physical inspection.
How can I get hired as a quality management specialist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in a quality inspector or quality technician role within a Texas manufacturing or energy company and building toward a specialist title from there. Large Texas employers in aerospace and medical devices, including defense contractors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and device manufacturers around Austin, regularly hire quality coordinators and compliance associates who are new to the field. Earning an entry-level ASQ certification, such as the Certified Quality Improvement Associate, and gaining familiarity with ISO documentation gives candidates a concrete edge when applying.
Where can I find and apply to quality management specialist jobs in Texas?
